SAFETY & PROTECTION
Although it is not a legal requirement for private tutors to conduct DBS checks on themselves, we consider it to be good practice to do so.

Your tutors at Maestro Music had their first checks conducted in 2011, then again in 2015 through the local authority.

They were renewed again at the end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022 by our respective unions - The MU & ISM. These can be viewed on request.

We are both registered with the update service so our DBS checks
will always be up to date.

For your own peace of mind, a parent/guardian is welcome to stay in the lesson.
No self-respecting tutor would or should discourage a parent from staying.
Please note there is only room for one parent.

There are many tutors operating without DBS checks and/or insurance because it's not a legal requirement, so they don't see it as an important aspect of private tutoring, however we have both because we follow the professional standards set out by the Musicians Union and the ISM (Incorporated Society of Musicians).

Before you choose a company for yourself or your child, please check that they are taking your safety seriously.

Public Liability insurance is provided by The MU & ISM
